“Why am I so tired? I’m so exhausted, why am I sleeping so poorly? What am I getting sick all the time? Why don’t I have any energy for my workouts?”
If you have found yourself asking these questions, it may be possible that your body is experiencing Adrenal Fatigue/Burn Out. Adrenal Fatigue is a collection of physical, mental and emotional symptoms that indicate you have been operating at a high level of stress for too long and your body is now crashing, waving the “white flag”, saying “I’m done and I can’t do this anymore!”
The recovery process to Adrenal Fatigue/Burnout can feel long, lonely and, at times, confusing. In this episode of my Holistic Living Series, I discuss practical steps you can take to help your body physically recover from Adrenal Fatigue and Burnout. I will discuss how to best fuel your body with nutrition, vitamins and minerals, how to rest in an intentional way that will allow your body to rest and heal; and how to exercise in a way that will keep you healthy without adding stress to your body.
While in this particular post I will offer tips on how to recover your physical body, it is important to remember that the Adrenal Fatigue recovery process is one that is Holistic in nature. It requires tending to your body, mind and spirit (emotions) simultaneously. This process requires vulnerability, courage, patience and hard work. It is like trying to turn a cruise ship…it can be done, but it requires time and persistence! However, I promise you that if you submit to the process and put in the hard work, you will recover and you will come out of this stronger and more resilient than you were before!
